A story 30 years in development now a feature film project with A.I.. and Unreal Engine.

I always wanted to be a filmmaker. What I never had was a way in — So I did it the
only way open to me: I worked labour jobs, saved what I could, and put the money
straight into whatever short film I was able to make. That was the deal I made with
myself. I’d fund it off my own back, one shift at a time.
In the 1990s, one of those jobs put me behind the wheel of a big rig. I got my
license — and in the training and the endless dark highway, The Truck Driver of the
Apocalypse came to me. I wanted it to be a trucker story that builds its own myth:
a lone trucker hauling the souls of the dead out of Hell, chased by a demon in a
burning tanker rig, the Four Horses of the Apocalypse locked in his trailer. Action
spectacle.
For three decades, scale was the problem. This was a studio movie, and no honest
way for an independent to get it made.
Cut To Current Day: What used to demand a hundred-million-dollar effects house,
a small, disciplined team can now build in a single room — Unreal Engine giving
us one consistent, buildable world, AI painting the grindhouse skin over it, every
shot designed on purpose before a frame is shot. The wall that kept this film in a
drawer for thirty years is simply gone.
I don’t want to make something solemn about the end of the world. I want to make
something fun — fast, loud, and funny, with a dark comic edge and a real heart
beating under the hellfire. Roger Corman escapism with a Rat-Fink grin.
The Truck Driver of the Apocalypse is how Solid Chrome Films introduces itself
to the world: proof that a lean, AI-native studio can deliver true studio-scale
spectacle without surrendering one ounce of independent credibility — or the fun.
Thirty years, a hundred labour shifts, and a million miles of highway got me here.
It’s time to get the cargo through
