HISTORY
In my early days of being inspired by short film ideas I read
the old folklore tale titled, “The Faithful Hound”. A tragic story
about a man who mistakenly kills his dog thinking the dog killed
his baby when it is later discovered the dog actually saved the
baby from a wolf.
Being inspired by grindhouse cinema and the Coen Brother’s
“Oh Brother Where Art Thou”, I wrote a pioneer backwoods
version of the story that won a best short screenplay 3rd place
award from “The Writer’s Place” in 2005.
I independently filmed the production the summer of 2006 using
costume FX and post-production CGI.
The finished film in 2007 played in several short film festivals
and won a “Best Editing”, “Best Mini-Short-Fantasy” awards at
the Modesto, Shockerfest Film Festival, 2007.
This was my first independent public release film.
